![]() ![]() The downside is that you can only download one book at a time. Just be sure to add "/mobile/" to the end of the url of your library in the Kobo's web browser. Fortunately, most Kobo devices have some sort of web browser though, so with calibre-web I can see how you might be able to visit the interface on the Kobo and manually download there. Incredible: the miracle happened Just a few minutes after I posted about my problem, Kobo Aura H2O was finally recognized by Windows 10. Hi David - as you suspected the issue is with my laptop, even though the issue happened using a USB 2 connection (as well as USB 3) My old Lenovo laptop worked fine using a USB 2 port so I was able to to use the extended Kobo driver and Kobo Utiilties which are so useful, so many thanks. Kobo doesnt have any native methods for wireless transfer, and the most reliable is simply plugging in and clicking Send to Device in Calibre. This is basically a web server on your home network that gives you wireless access to your library. Maybe my Windows 10 will recognize the Kobo Aura H2O sooner or later 08-28-2015, 02:30 AM 11: vincenzo. Ideally I'd like to be able to add books to the Kobo Desktop App and have the device sync via WiFi when it arrives. You could turn on the library server in the prefs. My Kobo Aura HD H2O is 'in the mail' so I'm trying to prepare for it by adding existing non-DRM ePub books that I already own. I haven't used the uncaged utility, but there is another solution that might be easier for you since you already have Calibre set up. I don't feel any particular need to upgrade. The Touch and the Aura H2O most commonly, but the Mini still gets a fair bit of use too. ![]() The newest of those, the H2O is from 2014. Have you called Kobo? What advice did they give you, if you did? I have three Kobo readers all in: The original Kobo Touch, a Kobo Mini, and the original Kobo Aura H2O. I've read your other post, and wish I had a better solution for you. I want to sync with the MacBook calibre library, but it will not recognize the device at all. While I wait for the USB 2.0 hub that I bought, I was wondering if there is a way to transfer my calibre library to the kobo without using the cable at any point, or if by setting it up on a windows computer and somehow getting it to work with the library in the MacBook. For the books already on the device, you can use my Kobo Utilities plugin to upload the covers.I recently got a new M1 MacBook and cannot connect to my kobo. This will use whatever cover is in the calibre library and generate them for each size needed. If you select the "Upload covers for books" option in the driver configuration, then the covers will be generated when the book is sent. The other way is to have the driver generate the cover images and send them. The first is that when i click update meadata i get the message 'kobo database version unsupported' the database version is 131and the firmware version 1s (3,19.5761) The suggestion is o tryhe support newer firmware option though this my. If you make sure the cover has an aspect ratio of 3x4, then it will resize to fill the available space. I have just bought an H2o to replace a dead Sony reader, I have hit two problems. I can think of two ways to get rid of these bars. 2) It brings up the connect popup on the Kobo but the connect button does not register. 1) It doesnt register the USB connection at all. I think this is what you are referring to. My Kobo H2O has started exhibiting the following problems when connecting to a pc. This generally means there is unused space at the side of the images. ![]() The screen has the aspect ratio of 3x4, but most cover images are taller than this. They are generated so that they keep the aspect ratio, but fill the available space in one dimension. The device generates the cover images from this and stores them. In that case, the cover image is pulled out of the book. But, it sounds like you are converting to kepub and sending that. The Kobo devices use the first page of epubs as the cover. What can I change if the cover of the book is very small on my H20 presentation page (after calibre conversion to Kepub) and not taking all space reserved for cover? I have already tryed the Kepub output option "Save proportion of SVG image" (Not sure of the traduction sorry I've got Calibre in french). ![]()
